Which is Better for VAG & BMW, VVDI2 or ZED Full?
Comparing VVDI2 and ZED Full for VAG & BMW: Find the ideal choice for your needs. Analyzing features, performance, and compatibility.
Which tool is better for VAG and BMW key programming? Here I collected some user feedback on
VVDI2 and ZED Full.
Reply 1: I have the ZED-Full and am a bit disappointed to be honest. Slowly bringing out anything new on the VAG front. The older A3 and TT never seems to be able to read the pin when other tools do fine. Didn't do well on the Marelli dash, especially didn’t like the one in the VW UP. Never manages to read any CAS modules via OBD (was able in the past but failed to read one for months) on top of that it’s expensive to run.
I’m about to order
VVDI2 (should have updated my AVDI but won't be forced into dealing with KAP)
Reply 2: I have VVDI2 and ZED full. For VAG and BMW
VVDI2 works best for me, ZED full works well for other marks
Reply 3: I had ZEDfull for almost 2 years. The day I bought it was happy day that week. The day I sold it out was happiest day in my life.
VAG mainly couldn’t do with other tools, ZED full also cannot (PIN CODE).
The equipment used on tokens is really expensive. If the procedure goes well (example), the learning key for a Passat B5 takes about 25 – 30 tokens, the combination 20 + 5 or 10 for learning. Almost 20 years old car, A $100 device in China can do the job in the blink of an eye. The cars should be free for the cost of the equipment.
VAG immo 4 Chinese ID48 can't learn but tokens needs. Supporter says: “Use original or ZED full ID48”. If you lose some tokens due to device failure or faulty transponders, you will never be able to get them back, but pre-purchase claims are different.
When you see how many tokens they want, BMW keys cost 50 tokens (about $35). What do you think about trying it?
The Mitsubishi smart key cannot be added, and the Chinese device learns the key by flashing.
This device is for dummies… click there … click here .. done. Might be fine for beginners, but not for pros.
I am disappointed with the equipment and support.
Reply 4: I have both, VVDI2 is better, ZED FULL's software and updates are always delayed compared to other tools.
Reply 5: Agree. There is also ZEDfull, which is my only option in BMW (have tcode pro but don't buy BMW modules). Made a few BMW, x5 and x6 by obd and work fine, and a mini too. Not very updated in VAG, some issues in vw brazil sometimes like: trying to make all key lost 2015 voyage, read pin ok, and tells me wait 15 minutes for security, then make weird config and dashboard say key 2-6, dont accept more keys, try again, wait another 15min, and again, i want 2 key and ZEDfull put 6 in programming.Tcode is ok on the first try.
Reply 6: if you need good tool for BMW CAS/MB EZS (read and write MB IR key), buy
Xhorse VVDI2. It makes keys over OBD (90% of VAG and BMW can be done by OBD in VVDI2) and includes all the VVDI functions
In short
If you are only looking for VAG + BMW then VVDI2 and
VVDI prog are good options. No other tools are required. In VVDI2 you have also programmer similar to Tango, you can make keys buy dump, but 90% of VAG and BMW can be done by OBD in VVDI2.
VVDI programmer don’t have OBD, it’s only for bench programming. Good for CAS4, FRM, EZS, EWS4 and many more.
