One customer said he could get the key cuts by decoding with Xhorse Dolphin XP005L key cutter, but he didn’t know how to get the original factory code for the decoded key. This problem is solved now. If you have the same problem, follow these steps.
The steps:
I do this for almost every car key I copy… I NEVER use universal copy.
I’m sorry because I use the phone app on my old Dolphin and this is how it shows me the code.
First you search the car in ‘Vehicle Database’. You put the customer’s key in the clamp, click ‘Decode Key’ and then you’ll see the cuts. Next you click ‘Find Bitting’.
I think that’s where many people make mistakes. This will give you the original factory code.
I’ve had some problems on some GM cars because the code series may overlap years and it may look in the wrong code series for some strange reason.
And Hyundai/Kia has been wrong sometimes and then I’ll look up the cuts into code on g-code online or something like that.
I think it may be a USA problem.
I fill out a code card for many customers and this helps when they come back in the future and so on.
